    Each capsule contains:
    Celecoxib USP 200 mg

Celecoxib belongs to a group of medicines called non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs), and specifically a sub-group known as COX-2 inhibitors. Your body makes prostaglandins that may cause pain and inflammation. In conditions such as rheumatoid arthritis and osteoarthritis, your body makes more of these.

    Indication

Celecoxib capsule is used for the relief of signs and symptoms of rheumatoid arthritis, osteoarthritis and ankylosing spondylitis in adults.
Celecoxib is used to relieve pain, tenderness, swelling, and stiffness caused by osteoarthritis (arthritis caused by a breakdown of the lining of the joints), rheumatoid arthritis (arthritis caused by swelling of the lining of the joints), and ankylosing spondylitis (arthritis that mainly affects the spine).

    Mechanism of action

Celecoxib is a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug that exhibits anti-inflammatory, analgesic, and antipyretic activities in animal models. The mechanism of action of CELEBREX is believed to be due to inhibition of prostaglandin synthesis, primarily via inhibition of cyclooxygenase-2 (COX-2), and at therapeutic concentrations in humans, CELEBREX does not inhibit the cyclooxygenase-1 (COX-1) isoenzyme.
Celecoxib acts by reducing the production of prostaglandins, thereby reducing pain and inflammation.

    Pharmacokinetics

Absorption: Rapidly in the gastrointestinal tract. Following oral administration, peak plasma gabapentin concentrations are observed within 2 to 3 hours
Protein Binding: The protein binding of celecoxib is 97%, and it is primarily bound to albumin
Metabolism: Metabolism is mediated by cytochrome.
Excretion: Celecoxib is primarily eliminated by hepatic metabolism with small amounts (<3%) of the unchanged drug found in both the urine and feces

    Contraindication

⇛ Contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to celecoxib
⇛ If you have had an allergic reaction to a group of medicines called “sulfonamides” like some antibiotics used to treat infections, or some water tablets/diuretics

    Side Effects

⇛ Allergic reaction such as skin rash, swelling of the face, wheezing, or difficulty breathing
⇛ Infections of the urinary tract
    ⇛ Muscle stiffness
    ⇛ Difficulty swallowing
    ⇛ Drowsiness
    ⇛ Dizziness
    ⇛ Shortness of breath Vomiting
    ⇛ Stomach ache, diarrhea, indigestion
    ⇛ Tiredness

    Warning & Precaution

Pregnancy: Do not take Celbox capsule if you are pregnant or can become pregnant (i.e. if you are of childbearing potential and not using adequate contraception) during ongoing treatment. If you become pregnant during treatment with Celecoxib you should discontinue the treatment and contact your doctor for alternative treatment.
Breast-feeding: Do not take a Celbox capsule during breast-feeding.
Driving and using machines: You should be aware of how you react to Celecoxib before you drive or operate machinery. If you feel dizzy or drowsy after taking the Celbox capsule, do not drive or operate machinery until these effects wear off

    Drug Interaction

⇛ ACE-inhibitors and Angiotensin II Antagonists
    ⇛ Aspirin
    ⇛ Fluconazole
    ⇛ Furosemide

For Pediatric Use: Celecoxib is for adults only, it is not for use in children and adolescents.
For Geriatric Use: Because elderly patients are more likely to have decreased renal function, care should be taken in dose selection, and dose should be adjusted based on creatinine clearance values in these patients. So always ask your doctor
